The General Plan is organized into chapters called "elements". Each element covers a specific topic. California State law establishes what elements are required and the general topics that should be addressed.
Carmel's General Plan Update Project addresses the following Elements:
Open Space
Conservation
Circulation
Safety
Noise
Public Facilities
Our General Plan also has other Elements that are not part of this Update project. These were recently updated as part of the City's completion of its Local Coastal Program.
